Agreement and scope
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Legal-e website, member learning platform, legal resources, legal services, and provider portal operated by Legal-e Speaking S.A.R.L., registered in Baabda, Lebanon under Commercial Registration No. 208132. By creating or using an account, submitting a service request, or continuing to use Legal-e, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. Additional terms shown before a paid subscription, service order, or provider assignment also apply to that transaction.
Eligibility and account access
Legal-e is designed primarily for university students, legal trainees, and adult professionals, but access is not restricted to those groups. You must provide accurate information and be legally capable of entering into this agreement. A person who cannot enter into this agreement independently may use Legal-e only with authorization from a parent, guardian, or other person legally entitled to act on their behalf.
Member access may require approval, verification, and an active subscription. You are responsible for your credentials and activity under your account and must notify Legal-e promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Access is personal unless Legal-e expressly approves an institutional or team arrangement. A pseudonym may be used in public rankings, but it does not replace accurate private account information.
Learning platform
Legal-e provides structured legal learning, source navigation, assessment, review scheduling, feedback, personalized study recommendations, and progress evidence. Certain learning features may use automated systems to assist with explanations, feedback, question generation, recommendations, and other educational functions.
Scores, readiness indicators, ranks, recommendations, and generated study materials are learning tools. They are not university grades, professional accreditation, bar admission decisions, or guarantees of examination or career outcomes.
Legal content is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect relevant legal and regulatory developments. Legal-e aims to review its core legal learning content at least every three months. However, legal changes may occur between review periods, and errors or omissions may still occur. Users should verify current official sources where accuracy is material.
Legal information and professional engagement
Legal-e learning content, public resources, automated feedback, translations, and general platform communications do not create a lawyer-client relationship and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer acting on the facts of a matter. Submitting a consultation request or receiving an appointment proposal does not confirm acceptance of a matter. Any professional engagement begins only after conflict and scope review and the applicable engagement terms are confirmed. Do not rely on unconfirmed platform information as the sole basis for a legal deadline, filing, transaction, or professional decision.
Legal consultation requests
Consultation requests are reviewed for scope, professional availability, and potential conflicts before an appointment is confirmed. Requested dates and times are preferences only. Legal-e may decline a request or ask for additional non-confidential information before assigning a professional.
Do not submit confidential documents through the initial consultation form. The assigned professional, consultation scope, price, payment requirement, appointment time, cancellation terms, and meeting details must be confirmed separately before the consultation takes place.
Translation and interpretation services
Service requests are separate from learning subscriptions. You must provide complete instructions, lawful material, correct contact details, and any deadline or sworn-service requirement. Estimates may depend on extracted word or page counts, languages, urgency, file quality, and provider availability.
Work begins and status changes according to the service workflow shown to the client. Delivery dates may change where source files are incomplete, unreadable, unsafe, or materially different from the submitted description. A client remains responsible for reviewing delivered work and reporting a service issue within the period stated with the order.
Subscriptions, fees, and refunds
Prices, billing periods, taxes, payment methods, renewal terms, cancellation rules, and any refund conditions will be displayed before payment. Displayed customer prices are final and include applicable VAT. Where Legal-e is registered for value-added tax and the transaction is taxable, the applicable invoice will itemize the VAT included in the final price at the legally applicable rate, currently 11%. Learning subscriptions and one-time services are billed separately. A payment does not transfer ownership of Legal-e software, methods, or platform content. Where a payment provider is used, its terms also apply to payment processing.
Renewal and cancellation. A recurring learning subscription renews automatically for the selected billing period unless it is cancelled before its renewal date. You may cancel at any time through the available account controls or by contacting Legal-e. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not normally end access before the close of the period already paid for. If a renewal payment fails, subscription access may be suspended without a grace period. You may contact Legal-e to request assistance, but support does not extend access automatically. Material price changes affecting a renewal will be communicated before the new price takes effect.
Learning subscription refunds. Without limiting any non-waivable right or longer withdrawal period available under applicable law, a refund request for a new Legal-e learning subscription may be submitted within ten days of the initial payment. A refund is not automatic and will be considered only where the applicable refund conditions are met.
A refund may be approved where the platform experienced a material technical problem that prevented reasonable access to the subscribed learning features and Legal-e was unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable period; the subscription was charged incorrectly or more than once due to a payment or billing error; the subscribed service materially differs from the service described at the time of purchase; or another circumstance exists in which a refund is required by applicable law.
A change of mind, failure to use the platform, lack of study time, failure to achieve a particular learning result, or dissatisfaction with personal progress does not by itself create a contractual right to a refund. Nothing in this policy limits any remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Refund requests must be submitted to hello@legal-e.app within ten days of the initial payment, or within any longer period required by applicable law. The request should include the account email, payment or invoice information, and a brief explanation. Legal-e will normally communicate a decision within five business days after receiving the information reasonably needed to assess the request. An approved refund will normally be initiated to the original payment method within ten business days after approval. A bank or payment provider may require additional time to credit the funds.
Renewal payments are not refundable under this contractual policy unless they resulted from a payment or billing error or a refund is otherwise required by applicable law. Translation, interpretation, consultation, and other one-time services remain governed by the cancellation and refund terms presented before payment for the relevant service.
Your material and confidentiality
You retain ownership of notes, answers, documents, and other original material you submit. You grant Legal-e a limited right to store, process, reproduce, and share that material only as needed to operate the platform, deliver the requested service, maintain security, provide learning features, and comply with law.
You must not upload material you have no right to use. Users should avoid submitting confidential or sensitive third-party information unless they have the necessary right and authority to do so.
Service documents are made available only to authorized operations staff and assigned providers according to their roles. Providers must comply with their separate confidentiality and professional obligations.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse Legal-e, bypass access controls, interfere with platform operation, scrape protected content, share member access, upload malicious or unlawful files, impersonate another person, manipulate assessments or ratings, or use Legal-e content to build a competing dataset or service without written permission.
Legal-e may investigate misuse and restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, content, or infrastructure.
Legal-e ownership
Legal-e owns or licenses the platform, brand, interface, software, learning structure, editorial material, graphics, and original content. Official legal texts remain subject to their applicable public-law status and source rights. Unless expressly allowed, you may use Legal-e material only for personal learning or the specific service relationship. Printed study material may carry a Legal-e watermark and may not be sold or redistributed.
Availability and responsibility
We work to keep Legal-e available and secure, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Features may change as the platform develops. To the extent permitted by law, Legal-e is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by reliance on educational material as legal advice, or failures outside its reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Lebanese Republic. Disputes that cannot be resolved directly will be submitted to the competent Lebanese courts, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in law, services, pricing, or platform operation. The revised date will appear at the top. Material changes affecting an active paid relationship will be communicated before they take effect where required.
